The five laboratory networks are members of the Integrated Consortium of Laboratory Networks (ICLN). The ICLN:
- Is coordinated through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
- Functions to provide improved coordination of laboratory response to incidents
- Will assess and fill gaps in coverage across multiple sample types, potential victim groups (human, animal, and plant), all weapons of mass destruction, and all response phases
- Will promote common standards of performance across all lab response assets to ensure data supporting Homeland Security decisions is of high quality and defensible
